HYALURONIC ACID – SODIUM HYALURONATE (gel)

Naturally present in the skin, hyaluronic acid has exceptional moisturizing properties. Hyaluronic acid can bind up to 1000 times its weight in water and controls the hydration level of the skin tissues, leaving the skin smooth, firm and plump. However, the amount of hyaluronic acid present in the skin slows down over time, giving way to the first signs of aging. The skin then becomes less toned, it loses its elasticity and dries up, wrinkles and fine lines appear.

There are different types and weight of hyaluronic acid molecules, and these different HA weights will act on different skin layers to address hydration problems. The smaller the hyaluronic acid molecule, the deeper it will penetrate the different layers of the skin.

Medium molecular weight hyaluronic acid
Immediate skin-surface hydration. It penetrates the epidermis to create a protective moisturizing film and give the skin a smoother and plumper appearance.
Low molecular weight hyaluronic acid
Deep and long lasting hydration. It penetrates to the dermis to deeply hydrate the skin and restore elasticity.
